Step-Free Access at Davenport Station
Make Davenport Station Accessible: Sign Our Petition
For too long, Davenport station has been inaccessible to huge numbers of people in our community. With no lifts or ramps, wheelchair users, parents with pushchairs, elderly residents, and anyone carrying heavy luggage are simply unable to use their local station independently.
This isn't just an inconvenience – it's a barrier that cuts people off from jobs, education, healthcare, and visiting family and friends. In 2025, it's unacceptable that so many residents are excluded from using public transport because of a lack of basic accessibility.
Local campaigner Alice Delemare said: "It's simply not fair that so many people in our community are cut off from using their local station. Whether you're a mum with a buggy, someone with a disability, or an older person who struggles with stairs – you deserve to travel by train like everyone else."
Stockport Liberal Democrats are now calling on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Government to include Davenport in their next round of accessibility improvements. Stations across the country are being upgraded – and Davenport must not be left behind.
We know that when our community speaks up together, we can make change happen. But we need your voice to show decision-makers just how many people care about this issue.
Sign our petition today and help us make Davenport station accessible for everyone.
