Alice Delemare Selected as Liberal Democrat Candidate for Stockport Constituency

The Stockport Liberal Democrats have selected Alice Delemare as their Parliamentary candidate for Stockport constituency, bringing a wealth of experience in social and environmental justice to the role.
Alice, a long-time resident of Stockport who grew up in the area and now lives with her family in the Heatons, has deep roots in the local community. With over 15 years of experience campaigning on social and environmental justice issues, she currently works for an organisation driving the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
Throughout her career, Alice has led successful campaigns on clean energy, nutritious foods, and plastic pollution, demonstrating her commitment to challenging powerful interests and standing up for what's right. Her passion for helping people fight against broken and unfair systems aligns perfectly with the Liberal Democrats' values of putting local communities first.
As a mother of two young children, Alice understands the challenges facing families today. She volunteers for the Campaign for Family Friendly Trains, advocating for dedicated pushchair space and family-friendly improvements to the UK rail network – practical campaigning that makes a real difference to people's daily lives.
Speaking about her selection, Alice said: "I'm honoured to be selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Stockport. This is my home, where I grew up and where I'm raising my family. I know firsthand the issues that matter to local people, from protecting our NHS services at Stepping Hill to ensuring we have clean, affordable energy and a transport system that works for families. I'm ready to stand up for Stockport and fight for the change our community deserves."
